Terms, without the legalese

Last updated October 13, 2026 · Patchwork beta

What Patchwork is. A subscription service that helps a group organizer collect monthly answers from their family or close circle and turn them into a shared digest.

The deal. One yearly subscription covers the whole group; members never pay. It renews each year on the card that paid for it, and Stripe emails a reminder before every renewal. You can stop renewal any time from the billing page. When a subscription ends, new cycles stop and your group's history stays yours to revisit.

Gifts. A gift is a year of Patchwork paid for by the giver. On gifts the recipient sets up, the year (and the first renewal, on the giver's card) starts the day the recipient opens the gift. On gifts the giver sets up, it starts on the purchase date. If a gift hasn't been opened after 90 days, we switch its renewal off so the giver isn't charged again; opening it later switches renewal back on for a year from that day.

Refunds. Full refund within 30 days of the delivery date (gifts the recipient sets up) or the setup date (gifts you set up yourself). After that, no refunds; you can stop renewal any time from the billing page.

Your words are yours. Members own their answers; the group's digests belong to the group. We claim no rights beyond what's needed to make and deliver your Patchwork.

Be good. Invite only people who actually want to be there, and don't use Patchwork to harass, spam, or harm anyone. We can suspend accounts that do.

Beta honesty. Patchwork is young. We work hard to be reliable and to keep your data safe, but the service is provided as is, without warranties, and our liability is limited to what you've paid us.

Changes. If these terms change in a way that matters, organizers get an email before the change takes effect.
